About Founder:
Vegan House Cafe & Restaurant was founded by Kalyan Silwal and Archana Bhurtel, driven by their shared passion for compassion, mindful living, and animal welfare. Their journey began with a deep belief that food can be more than nourishment, it can be a force for positive change in how we relate to other beings and the world around us.
For Kalyan and Archana, Vegan House was never just a business idea. It grew from personal values rooted in empathy and sustainability, and from a desire to create a space where people can experience vegan living in a warm, supportive environment. Their vision was to make plant-based eating accessible, enjoyable, and deeply connected to a broader message of kindness.
At Vegan House, every decision from the way guests are welcomed to the way the space feels, reflects Kalyan and Archana’s commitment to compassion. They wanted the cafe to be a place of learning, connection, and community, where visitors feel encouraged to think about their choices and the impact they have on others.
Today, Vegan House stands as a living expression of their vision, a space that goes beyond food to celebrate empathy, conscious living, and the belief that every mindful choice contributes to a more compassionate world.

We tried their:
- Vegan Platter: The vegan platter at Vegan House is a perfect reflection of their commitment to flavorful, wholesome meals. The platter included a generous amount of plant-based items such as crispy veggies, seasoned tofu, rich grains, and house-made mock meat alternatives. Each component was beautifully seasoned, providing a well-rounded, satisfying meal that was filling without being too heavy. The flavors were bold and vibrant, offering a comforting mix of textures that left a lasting impression.
- Vegan Tea: To complement the platter, I went for their vegan tea. The tea had a calming herbal blend, smooth and warm, perfectly balancing the rich flavors of the meal. Its lightness and soothing properties made it the ideal pairing, offering a moment of relaxation and wellness after the hearty meal.
Vegan Ice Cream: For dessert, I had their Vegan Ice Cream, which was creamy and rich, with a delicate sweetness that didn’t overwhelm. It was a delightful treat, offering a cool and refreshing end to the meal.
Tofu Noodles: The Tofu Noodles were another standout. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the tofu added a satisfying protein element to the dish. The seasoning was just right, flavorful but not overpowering. The dish was light yet filling, with a wonderful balance of textures and tastes.
Its diverse menu blends local and international cuisines, featuring Nepali taste, Indian curries, seitan- and tofu-based dishes, and Western-inspired items like vegan burgers, salads, smoothies, and vegan desserts. The restaurant is well known for vegan versions of traditional foods such as choila and keema noodles, praised by locals and tourists alike for their authentic love of flavor.
